The Hon. R. Semple, Minister of Public Works, will return to Wellington by aeroplane from Westport today. The Hon. W. Lee Martin, Minister of Agriculture, will return to Wellington from Westport by aeroplane today.
Mr. T. Coltman, Wellington, travelled by air to Greymouth yesterday. Mr. J. T. Martin returned to Wellington yesterday from the south.
Mr. Lisle Aiderman, Auckland arrived at Wellington by train yesterday. Mr. James Fletcher left Wellington by the Limited Express last night for Auckland.
Mr. H. H. Sterling left Wellington last night by the steamer express for the south.
Sir Lionel and Lady Fletcher arrived at Wellington yesterday from the South Island.
Mr. Leonard Tripp, Wellington, returned from the south by the interisland steamer yesterday. Mr. E. J. Fawcett. Assistant DirectorGeneral of Agriculture, was a passenger by the Limited Express to Auckland last night.
Mr. W. R. Carey, manager of the Kaiapoi Woollen Manufacturing Company, arrived at ’Wellington from the south yesterday. Mr. H. R. Sellers, secretary of the New Zealand Racing Conference, travelled to Christchurch by air from Wellington yesterday.
Mr. D. W. Woodward, secretary of the Bureau of Industry, returned to Wellington yesterday by the steamer express from the south. Sir Bruce Bruce-Porter, M.D., K.8.E., who is on a tour of the Dominion, arrived at Wellington yesterday from the south. The Rt. Rev. M. J. Brodie, Roman Catholic Bishop of Christchurch, arrived at Wellington yesterday by the Interisland steamer express.
Mr. S. L. Wright, president of the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association, was a passenger by the steamer express to Wellington yesterday.
Dr. T. J. Hughes, Dr. H. Smith and Dr. O. B. Gilberd, Auckland, arrived at Wellington yesterday to attend a conference of medical officers of health. Mr. C. T. Halsted, manager in New Zealand for Cable and Wireless, Limiter, arrived at Wellington from Auckland yesterday by the Limited Express.
Mr. J. G. L. Hewitt, S.M., chairman of the Railways Appeal Board, and Mr. J. Elliott, a member ot the board, arrived at Wellington by train yesterday from Auckland. Sir John Flett, formerly director of the Geological Survey of Great Britain and the Museum of Practical Geology and Lady Flett, who have been visiting New Zealand since the beginning of the month, are now in Auckland. The Rev. Alex. Campbell, New South Wales, president of the Congregational Union, who has been attending a conference in Christchurch, spoke at the Wellington Rotary Club’s luncheon yesterday and left daring the afternoon for Hawera.
The Rev. Raymond Dudley, who has been minister of Trinity Methodist Oliurcb, Wanganui, for seven years, and who has been appointed to the Durham Street Methodist Church, ’Wanganui, left for Auckland yesterday, fie is to be married in Auckland ou Thursday.
Mr. Russell Laurensou, of the staff Of the Vacuum Oil Company, 'Wellington, has been transferred to Dunedin on promotion, and will leave for the south to take up his new duties tomorrow evening. Mr. Laurenson’s departure will be a severe loss to music in 'Wellington, as for some years his fine baritone voice has been a source of strength to musical performances iu Wellington. Only last year he sang flic role of Vanderdeckeu iu “The Flying Dutchman” and also sang the baritone solos in “Messiah” in Wellington and Auckland
