Negotiations To Start Today RE FRIG ERA T E 1) CARGO CONTRACT Delegates To Conference Negotiations for renewal of the freight contract for the shipment of New Zealand refrigerated produce to the United Kingdom are to commence in Wellington today. The discussions will be attended by representatives of the Government, produce and marketing organizations and the shipping companies. The Minister of Marketing, Mr. Nash, will open the proceedings, which are expected to last several days.

The present three-year contract for buter, cheese, meat and fruit will expire on August 31, aud the new contract will take effect as from that date. This will be the first time that negotiations for a freight contract for refrigerated cargo have taken place in New Zealand. Representatives of Government and Boards. The representatives of the Government and export produce boards in the negotiations will be as follows: — Mr. Nash, as Minister of Marketing. Sir Francis Frazer, deputy-chairman of the Executive Commission of Agriculture. Meat Producers Board: Mr. T. A. Duncan (ehairman), Mr. James Begg, Sir William Hunt. Fruit Board: Mr. T. O. Brash, Mr. Ralph Paynter. Primary Products Marketing Department: Mr. G. A. Dunean, actingdirector; Mr. J. W. Rodden, asisstant London manager. In addition to the above representatives, the discussions will be attended by Government advisers and executive officials of tire produce boards. Shipping Representatives. The shipping companies will be represented by the following:— Mr. John Macmillan, managing director of the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company, Ltd. Mr. H. J. F. Mills, a director of the New Zealand. Shipping Company, Ltd.

Mr. H. W. Corry, a director of the Port Line, Ltd. Mr. G. H. Trott, London manager of the Blue Star Line, Ltd.
