A high scout honour, the silver cross for gallantry, was presented to Rover Scout Clifford Mahan b.v lhe Governor-General today. Seoul Mahan saved the life of a young woman bather in Hawke’s Bay early last year. Lord Galway said it gave him great pleasure to present a well-earned decoration. Tie congratulated Scout .Mahan not only ou what he did but also on the quiet way lie did it. It was only by accident that the authorities heard of his bravery, and this was greatly to his credit. Among those present at tlie gathering was Air Marshal Sir Robert ClarkHall, Dominion Commissioner for Rover Scouts.
