Wellington Exchange Quiet MARKET DEPRESSED Business continued dull on a depressed market on the Wellington Stock Exchange yesterday. Trading was inactive and the turnover small. There was a steady demand for Government stocks, several small parcels of which changed hands at unchanged rates. Banks were quiet and little changed. Commercial of Australia sold }d. up at 16/I*}, and New Zealands went unchanged at 38/6. Buyers of Commercial .of Sydney came back 10/- to £2O/5/-, without support. E.S. and A.’s were wanted at £5, sellers asking 5/- higher. Financial and pastorals lacked interest. Gas shares were unwanted. Holders of Aueklands wore prepared to quit at 17/-, and were offering the 15/- paid at 11/3. Wellington ordinaries were available at 30/6, and the preference at 23/6. Insurance shares were neglected, the only offer being -13/6 for South British, which were done in Auckland at 44/3. New Zealand Refrigerating were weaker. the 10/- paid selling at the low level of 6/8, while the fully-paid were offering at 15/6. Buyers went up to 8/3 for Wellington Meat Exports. There was very little doing in other Nev? Zealand industrials. New Zealand Breweries sold unchanged at 38/-, buyers staying in nt a penny less.

Leading Australians were quiet, quotations showing a good premium on -Melbourne and Sidney prices. Woolworths, Ltd., were done at 22/9, more being wanted at that price.
