WANGANELLA HAS STORMY TRIP
Two Of Engine-room Staff Injured By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, March 28. An unusually rough passage from Sydney was experienced by the Wauganella, which reached Auckland at 8 o’clock tonight, about 12 hours behind schedule. No damage was done aboard the vessel, but two of the engine-room staff received injuries. One missed his footing and had a hand lacerated in some machinery. He was attended by the ship’s surgeon, who found it necessary to insert eight stitches. The other, fell down a companionway aud sprained an ankle.
.From Friday evening till Sunday morning very few passengers felt inclined to take meals. Baths were forbidden and the usual picture entertainments were not held.
The Wanganella’s departure for Sydney and Melbourne has been postponed till 4 p.m. on Friday.
