CZECH CONSULATES CEASE TO EXIST
Handed Over To Germans In Australia
(Received March 27, 11.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, March 27. Acting under instructions from the Government, the Czechoslovak ConsulGeneral, Mr. F. Kveton, handed over his Consulate-General to the German Consul-General, Dr. Asmis, today. Czechoslovak Consuls under his jurisdiction -were also instructed to hand) over their Consulates to the local German Consuls. Czechoslovak Consulates in Australia have therefore censed to exist.
NOT RECOGNIZED BY GOVERNMENT
(Received March 27, 11.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, March 27. The Minister of External Affairs, Mr. Hughes, said today that the handing over of the Czech Consulate to the German Consul-General was not recognized by the Commonwealth Government because the Commonwealth had not recognized the German occupation of Czechoslovakia.
