Wellington Market Dull
AN EASY TENDENCY There was little change in the Wellington stock and share market yesterday, business being quiet, with a email turnover. Prices showed no improvement, and in several sections the trend was slightly weaker. ... Government loans had a fair inquiry at steady rates. Some holders were piepared to sell, but no dealings were reported. There were buyers in for Wellington City and Auckland City debentures. , , , , Banka were weak on a slack demand. New Zealands were quitted at 38/4* to 38/6, buyers staying in at 38/-. Commercial of Australia were steady at 16/-» but Commercial of Sydney were 10/down at £l9/15/-. E.S. and A.’s were easy at £5, and National of Australasia were wanted at £l3/5/-, sellers asking 10/- higher. . Pastoral and financial issues attracted little or no attention. Goldsbrough Morts were on offer at 29/6, and N.Z. Loan and Mercantile ordinary stock was available at £27/10/-. Gas shares were unwanted, and there were no quotations of insurance Buyers showed little interest in any New Zealand industrials. N.Z. Breweries were done at 38/-, buyers staying in at 37/10. Carltons were firin at 67/-, and Tooths were wanted at 55/-. Beid Rubber (N.Z.) had inquiry at 24/-, and Wilsonr Cement at 15/6. Leading Australians were fairly well supported at about late rates.
