Private Calls On Business Telephones

Sir, —i nave been very interested this week in reading the correspondence in regard to the use of office telephones and note that “Manager” puts the blame on the female members of his staff. The female members certainly do make their engagements by telephone in the office, but the male members put on their hats, stroll out “on office business,” make their engagements and have their chats then. “Manager” can see this for himself If he cares to look out of his window at any time and note the number of boys anil men talking on street corners.—l am, etc., TYPISTE. Wellington, March 25.
