Police Make Arrest By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, March 26. The Auckland police are inquiring into the death at New Lynn-on Saturday evening of a young man believed to‘be Mr. S. E. M. Christie, 24. Neighbours said they understood Mr. Christie came from Christchurch, and that he was a well-known cyclist who had undergone an operation upon his head a year ago. A Maori rang Constable Boag at New Lynn to say a young man had been the victim of an assault. The constable went to the house and was told Mr. Christie was lying iu bed when a Maori came into the room and subjected him to a wrestling hold about the head and allegedly punched him. Later Mr. Christie died. The police have made an arrest.
