BOMB OUTRAGES Irish Republican Army Believed Responsible By Telegraph— Press Assn.—Copyright. (Received March 24, 11.15 p.m.) LONDON, March 24. Troops were hastily called out to guard Woolwich Arsenal . early this morning following a series of terrific explosions caused by the ■bursting of oxygen cylinders in the medical store shed of the Royal Military College of Science, near .Woolwich Common. The shed caught fire and was completely destroyed, but no other buildings were involved. Firemen had narrow escapes from flying metal. . The explosions continued tor more than 30 minutes, accompanied by vivid flashes which lit up the neighbourhood. Windows over a wide area were shattered.
A bomb exploded in a street in Coventry yesterday, shattering windows within a radius of 200 yards. It is believed that members of the Irish Republican Army were responsible. The police believed that Irish Kepublican terrorists are also responsible for two explosions in the Edgbaston district of Birmingham which extensively damaged and set fire to several houses and completely aestroyed an unoccupied motor-car standing in the roadway. The detonations were heard over a wide area and windows of houses within a radius of 200 yards were broken.
