Dr. .1. P. S. Jamieson, president of the New Zealand branch of the British Medical Association, left Wellington for Nelson by air yesterday. Mr J. Dowgray, a director of the Bank of New Zealand, left for the south by the setamer express last night. The Rev. G. B. Stephenson, vicar of Danuevirke, has been appointed a canon of Napier Cathedral in succession to the late Canon E. D. Rice. Mr. D. M. Spedding, a member of the New Zealand Rugby Football Council, arrived at Wellington by I he steamer express yesterday. Mr. 11. D. Acland, president of the New Zealand Sheep-owners’ Federation, left -Wellington for Christchurch by the steamer express last night. Mr. E. L. Rutledge, general manager for New Zealand for the Fox Film Corporation (Australasia) Ltd., arrived at Wellington from Auckland by the Limited express yesterday. Mr. A. G. Lunn and Mr. A. M. Seaman returned to Auckland by the Limited express last night after attending a meeting of the executive of the Associated Chambers of Commerce. The Rev. A. J. Seamer, who has resigned from the position of general superintendent of home and Maori missions under the Methodist Church of New Zealand, will continue to act as adviser on Maori matters to his successor, the Rev. G. Laurenson. The Rev. A. P. Campbell, 8.A., will arrive at -Wellington by the steamer express this morning. Mr. Campbell, who is president of the Congregational Union of Australia and New Zealand, has been attending the recent assembly in Christchurch of the New Zealand union. For upward of 30 years he has held the pastorate of the Killara Congregational (Tmreii in Sydney, recently accepting a call Io the Burwood church in the same city. Mr. Campbell is to speak in The Terrace ami Cambridge Terrace Churches tomorrow.
