Laughs On The Greetings Telegrams
Q REETINGS that telegraph services '■* offer for all occasions are the butt of some sly, if good-natured, jokes from Hollywood. The occasion is Bing Crosby’s new Universal picture, “East Side of Heaven,” and in it Biug Crosby goes one better than the telegraphs. He is a messenger who croons tender words to order and for a fixed fee. In the film, though, Crosby’s tenure as the crooning messenger boy is short lived. The circumstances surrounding his separation from his employment by “Postal Union” furnish a comedy highlight of the picture.
With Biug is Joan Blondell in the leading feminine role of the comedy, which also features Mischa Auer and Irene Hervey.
