The question of a Sunday morning tram service to Brooklyn after the arrival of the express train from Auckland and the steamer express from Lyttelton was discussed at a recent meeting of the Brooklyn District Municipal Electors’ Association, when it was decided to write to the tramways department to see if this service could be arranged. The secretary of the association reported to the committee that many complaints were being received from resir dents concerning the lack of maintenance work on roads and footpaths in the Brooklyn district. It was stated that there was considerable danger o.f fire because of pathways overgrown with gorse.
