A Public Works Department light! aeroplane flown by Mr. J. Pritchard, with Mr. C. P. Hill, radio engineer, who will be stationed at Carter’s Beach' aerodrome, as passenger, was forced to land on the beach at Tauranga Bay on' Monday because of misty weather. The machine was on its way from Wellington to Westport and after a wait of half an hour continued to Wellington on Tuesday. There are numerous areas along the sea coast from Tauranga Bay, to Karamea where emergency landings can lie made by aeroplanes, mostly on the beach at low tide.
