EMERGENCY SUPPLY SERVICES. —Electricity, water and telephone mains are being laid by the British Government to duplicate the normal supply lines, so that the danger of communication being broken in time of emergency is minimised. This trench will carry them between, the Foreign Office (right) and Downing Street (left).
