MEMEL NEXT ON THE LIST
Likely To Join The Reich On Saturday
REPORTS OF GERMAN TROOP MOVEMENTS (Independent Cable Service.) BERLIN, March 20. It is generally accepted that Memel next Saturday will pass painlessly under the swastika, but it is indicated that Lithuania and the Danzig corridor will not be touched for the present.
Reports of heavy German troop movements in East Prussia strengthen the possibility that Memel is next on the list for acquisition by Germany. The Memel Diet meets on March 25, when Dr. Neumann, leader of the Memel Germans, is expected openly to demand independence for Memel.
