Evidence of a growing feeling that steps should be taken to bring about a. reduction in the amount of noise caused by motor vehicles was given by Mr. A. F. T. Chorlton, publicity officer of the Transport Department, at a meeting of motor-cyclists in Auckland. Recently the department asked local bodies for their views on the best means of promoting safety on the roads, he said.
