THREE MONTHS’ JAIL
Man Illegally On Premises Found without lawful excuse in a yard on Tborndon Quay, on Friday, Phillip Austin Selwyn, labourer, aged 52, who had admitted the offence at a previous sitting, was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment by Mr. J. 11. Luxford S.M., in the Magistrates’ Court, Wellington, yesterday. The magistrate said that a doctor had reported that there was a certain amount of abnormality in defendant, probably caused by chronic alcoholism, and he warned defendant not to trespass on his wife’s premises. Other Offences. Arthur Albert Maker, labourer, aged 48, was sentenced by Mr. M. I. Stilwell, S.M., to two months’ imprisonment for a fifth offence of drunkenness. Nellie Money, domestic, aged 62, who was found on enclosed premises in Cambridge Terrace, was ordered by Mr. Stilwell to come up for sentence if called upon within 18 months on condition that she spend the first six months iu Mt. Magdala Home. Christchurch.
