HOOLIGANISM AT BEACH RESORT

Two Young Men Fined

By Telegraph—Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, March 20. Hooliganism at a beach camping resort. resulted in the prosecution of two young men, Nicholas. Goodwin and Lloyd ’Anzac Thomas, who were charged in the Magistrates’ Court today with disorderly behaviour at Oakura Beach. Each was fined £2. Commenting on the difficulty of detecting such offences, of which the police said many reports had been received, the magistrate, Mr. W. H. Woodward, S.M., commended two young girls who made the complaint and made an order prohibiting the publication of their names. He did not think they were confirmed hooligans, lie said to the offenders, or he would have sent them to jail.
