Small Yardings Offered At Norse wood DANNEVIRKE. March 20. The Norsewood stock sale today saw a small yarding of sheep and cattle offered to a mediocre bench of buyers. Cpmpetition was quite keen throughout, however, a total clearance being effected at prices up to late rates. Prices are:— Sheep: Medium ewe lambs, 12/6; wether lambs, 9/6 to 13/6; small ewe lambs, 9/-; m.a. ewes, 7/4 to 10/-; oneshear S.D. rains, 2 to 4gn§. Cattle: Fat Jersey cows, £3/10/- to £5/5/-; store eows, £l/10/- to £3; Jersey bulls, £3 to £5. Pigs: Weaner pigs, 4/-. Fat Sheep Values Maintained At Gisborne GISBORNE, March IS. At the Gisborne stock sale, fat sheep values were maintained. Ewes made 8/4 to 10/3, with one pen at 7/4. but wethers barely made store value—lo/3. Down two-tooths brought 13/- to 15/8. and lambs 12/3 to 15/-. The store sheep entry numbered 5200, with a large proportion of lambs, which declined, good lots making (>/- to 9/10. Other values were maintained. Down lambs, fat and forward, made 11/2, fairly good 7/10; ewe lambs, fairly good, 9/3 to 9/6. Good lots of breeding ewes realized 17/3 for four-tooths. and six and eight-tooths 19/4, live and six-year 8/- to S/6; aged ewes. 3/- to 4/3. Wethers, fresh, made 10/5. medium 8/6. Beef values were maintained. Station cow.s made £5/10/- to £6, Jerseys £3 15/- to £4/17/6: P.A. vealerst. £2/2/- to £2/4/-.
