At the wool sales today prices were fully’ firm on the closing rates of the previous Sydney series. Competition was string from the Continent and 1 orksliire. with a fair demand from Japan. Greasy merino fleece sold Io 2-l’]d. The offering totalled 10.975 bales, of which 9770 bales were sold nt auction and 1669 disposed of privately. Placer Development Ltd. For three months to Marcji 1, 1939, Pato Concolidnted Gold Dredging Ltd. dredged 3,750.000 cubic yards for a recovery of 16,2140 z. fine gold and recovered with its hydraulic units 11290 z. fine gold, the value of the total production being 607,005 dollars. During the same period .V-nitzu Gold Dredging Ltd. handled 357.600 cubic yards, recovering 2205<>z line gold, equivalent to 77,175 dollars. The dredge has passed out. of the low grade area which it has been digging for the past 10 montlw.
