PIONEER CLUB

"Every Other Wednesday" Circle Very interesting and pleasant evenings had been enjoyed throughout the year the anual report of the “Every Other Wednesday” Circle of the Pioneer Club stated. As in former years the circle had been meeting on the first and third ‘Wednesdays of every 'month. A resume of the year’s activities was contained in a report which was presented at the annual meeting recently in the clubrooms. Talks from the following had been much enjoyed:— Mrs. E. J. Moore, after-care association, Mrs. J. Wallis, travel talk, Miss A. Woodhouse, literary mystery solved, Mrs. A. Cruttenden, Dicksonian evening, Mrs. M. E. Gillman, Geneva, and Miss Edwin described a continental tour.

One outstanding talk was given by Messrs. Mulligan and Carmack, who told members of the tentative plans for the coming Centenary. A pleasant evening was spent during the year by members in viewing the treasures in the Turnbull Library. The singing circle had given English folksongs and Miss Hilda Taylor’s talk on folk dancing was demonstrated by her pupils in several numbers. A welcome home for the secretary had been organized by Mrs. J. Thornley. This took the form of a mystery play and was most enjoyable. The circle thanked Mrs. Thornley for acting as secretary for some time. The following officers were elected: President, Miss A. Woodhouse; vicepresidents, Mesdames E. J. Moore, J. L. Garrard and Miss Edwin; secretary, Miss V. Dawson; committee, Mrs. J. Thornley, Misses Jessie Forsyth and Hilda Taylor. SAVE KIDDIES’ CLOTHES.
