London Wool Sales Firm *By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright. LONDON, March. 17. At the wool sales 8698 bales were offered, including 4548 bales of New Zealand, and 7590 bales were sold. A good selection met active competition and a good clearance was effected at steady New Zealand greasy halfbred Strathconan sold at lOd. average and Hid. highest; crossbred, 9|d. and 103 d. Slipe halfbred lambs, HBJIC block TBS, realized 12d. average and 131 d. highest. The Bank of New South Wales has received the following cabled advice from its London office, dated March 17: —- London wool sales: Since the opening prices generally have remained very firm, while best-conditioned crossbreds lhave moved in favour of sellers.
