COLLEGE CRICKET
St. Patrick’s, Silverstream, Lead St. Bede’s Honours were fairly even at the conclusion of play in Silverstream yesterday in the annual match between the first elevens oE St. Bede’s College, Christchurch, and St. Patrick’s College, Silverstream. St. made 131 and 4 for the loss o£ no wickets and St. Bede s 119 Excellent bowling by Hodgins, Gi,ll and Rush kept the St. Patrick’s scoring down. The St. Patrick’s captain, Bourke. scored 50 and Lumber made 37 in good style. Gill, the St. Bede's captain, played fine cricket to score 23, the best effort for his side. Both teams fielded we.l. OLD BOYS BEAT SCOTS COLLEGE In an exciting and interesting game played at Scots College yesterday afternoon. the old boys scored a first-innings win against the college by 51 runs _ The school, batting first, scored il runs, the old boys replying with 1-- lor five wickets, when they declared. DOUBLE WIN FOR TIAIARU
By Telegraph—Press Association. TIAIARU, March 17. Tinmru High School scored a double victorv in the annual cricket matches against AVnitaki Boys’ High School. In the senior game Timaru made 125 and 157. and AVaitaki 117 and 50. Bowling for Timaru. Ensor took four wickets for 6 in the visitors’ second innings. Tn the junior game Timaru, who made 271 runs (D. Paton 116) ( won by an _inuings_and 156_runs.
