NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MAKE “SPECIAL ORDER.” PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY A GIVEN that at a .Special Meeting of the Eastbourne Borough Council held on Wednesday, first day of March, 1939, it was resolved to provide for the charge for water under the “Extraordinary ’ Supply Clause 31 of the Eastbourne Borough Waterworks By-law as follows: (1) The consumer of water supplied through meter to pay the ordinary water supply rates in respect of such property, one-half of the yearly amount of which rates shall be deemed to be the minimum charge for water for any half-yearly period, such period being either (a) the period commencing on January 1 and ending on June 31) next ensuing; or (b) the period commencing on July 1 and ending on December 31 next ensuing. (2) Subject to the provisions of “Subclause 1” as to half-yearly minimum charges the charge for water supplied through a meter shall at the rate of one shilling per one thousand gallons. (3) Meters shall be read and accounts rendered half-yearly on the halfyearly days of June 30 and December 31 respectively. (4) If the amount of such account shall exceed the amount of the minimum of one-half of the yearly water rates .on the property, then such excess shall be payable by the consumer within fourteen days of the presentation of the account for such halfyearly period. (5) If any default shall be made in payment of the minimum charge or any other moneys payable in respect of “Extraordinary” supply under this Part of the By-law the Council may cut off the supply without notice and also the corporation may recover moneys owing in any court of competent jurisdiction as a debt owing to the Corporation. And notice is hereby further given that the above will be submitted for confirmation as a “Special Order” at a Special Meeting of the Eastbourne Borough Council. to be held in the Council Chambers, Makaro Street, Eastbourne, at 7.25 p.m. on Tuesday, the Eleventh Day of April, 1939.
