TRENTHAM AUTUMN MEETING OPENS.—The Wellington Racing Club was again favoured with fine, sunny weather when its autumn meeting began on the Trentham course yesterday. There were several close finishes, some of which are shown. Beaupartir gained an easy victory in the big autumn classic, the N.Z. St. Leger, and Taurangi had a narrow victory in the Thompson Handicap, the chief handicap on the card.
