Proposal For Animal Ambulance The annual meeting of the Junior Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was held on Thursday, the president. Aliss E. 11. K. Alitebell, AVellington Diocesan School. Marton, presiding. The patron, Hon. Alary Alonckton, and the hon. secretary of the S.I’.C.A. ladies’ auxiliary. Miss K. Robson, were also present. The president welcomed the patron and introduced to her the members of the committee. Replying, the Hon. Alary Alonckton expressed her keen interest in the work of the society. Aliss Robson thanked the. society _ for the financial support which it had given to the ladies’ auxiliary in their efforts to raise funds for an animal ambulance and clinic for AVollington. She outlined the proposals of the auxiliary to ensure the success of the movement to secure a "worthy memorial of centennial year. She asked for help from all who could assist in the'large amount of work the proposals involved. So far nearly £4OO had been raised’ but a much larger sum would be necessary to establish a clinic on a proper footing. Reports were read by the pupil representatives of school branches., giving the results of their efforts since the October meeting and their programmes of work for the present year. '.tLe financial statement showed that the following contributions had been made during the last quarter:—£2s to the ladies’ auxiliary toward the animal ambulance and clinic; £lO toward propaganda films; and £lO to the Waikato S.I’.C.A, The secretary reported that the secant! alterations and additions for the society on “Pets” was nearly exhausted, and altertaiong and additions for the third edition of 1000 copies were approved. . It was resolved to apply for affiliation with the federation of S.P.C.A.’s. The following officers were elected :— President, Dr. A. G. Butchers (Education Department Correspondence School) : chairman of executive, Aliss E. H. K. Mitchell (AVellington Diocesan School. Alarton) : hon. secretary, Mr. J, JI. Howell.
