These represent the best English and French blood and are sired by Ellangowan, Felstead, Diomedes, Revillon, Salmon Leap and Apple Sammy, from dams by Chaucer, Captain Cuttie, Torloisk, Gav Crusader, Sardanapale and Buchan. All are in foal to the highlyrelated and well-performed French horse, Lang Bian, a son of the great sire and stayer, Massine (Ascot Gold Cup, etc.), and descending from Baroness La Fleehe (g. dam of Beau Pere, etc.). EIGHT YEARLINGS AND T’WO THREE-YEAR-OLDS on account of Mr. L. C. Hazlett, Salisbury, Otago. These yearlings are all by Gustavo, already the sire of three winners in Gusteriuo, Gusto and Guste, and of King Gustavo, ’beaten a head by Winning Rival in the McLean Stakes. They are out of noted winnerproducing darns and claim close relationship to Alma, Travenna, Amy Johnson, Mary Pratt, Loughrea, Half Not*, Pink Note, Ravenna and High Gear, recent winners in the South.
