Ginger Rogers To Wear Dress 24 Years Old

r A SILVER AND BLUE dress worn by Irene Ca'stle at the height of her dancing fame twenty-four years ago. will be worn again by Ginger Roges in “The Castles,” a screen version of the lives of Mrs. Castle and her late husband, Vernon Castle. Designed by Lady Duff Gordon, the dress is “ageless in style.” according to Mrs. Castle, who declares the gown conformed to no Paris dictates then or now. “It is simply a beautiful, charming dress that any woman can wear.” said Mrs. Castle. “It has a natural waistline. it is floor-length, has a wide, full skirt in four layers of chiffon, and features the torn hemline. I had a number of the gowns made at the time I used it in my dance numbers with Vernon Castle, and the last one was in perfect condition when we gave up the act so that Vernon could enlist in the Royal Flying Corps at the beginning of the war. I have kept it ever since, and it is as good as new.” Fred Astaire will be co-stared with Miss Rogers in the R.K.O. Radio picture.
