CHARGE OF THEFT

Salesman Before Court Charged with failing to account for £Bl4 to the Colonial Mutual Assurance .Society Compffny, Ltd., in Wellington, thereby committing theft, Michael Bede Maher, salesman, aged 47, appeared in the Magistrates’ Court, Wellington, yesterday. He was remanded to March 22 on the application of the police. Detective-Sergeant P. Doyle said thirr Maher was arrested only the previous night. Inquiries had not been completed. The amount involved would be considerably more than appeared in the charge.
