Labour’s Monetary Policy
Sir, —Evidently all Labourites bare not unbounded faith in Mr. Nash s ami Mr. Savage’s monetary reforms. A well-known member of the Party litre drove up to our house iu a flash new car. We questioned the financial side of it and were told, “As I had a few hundred pounds in the bank I thought I could spend it better than Mr. Nash, as he will be needing every penny he can lay his hands on after April 1.” As this came from an enthusiastic supporter of Labour, I thought it too priceless to keep to ourselves, so I am letting your readers digest this gem. From our personal knowledge of Labourites, they are good Socialists till their pockets are affected and then they make first-class capitalists. We are waiting to hear their squeals after April 1. —I am, etc., PLAIN JANE. Wanganui, March 10.
