Rise In Price Of Eggs Expected

' Though no change has yet occurred in the price of eggs in YVellington, the market is firm for A grade aud specials and a rise is expected soon. Specials are still being sold at 2/3 a dozen. A grade at 2/2, and B grade at 2/-. Current prices of fruit, vegetables and provisions are: — Fruit and Vegetables. Fruit. —Apples: Cookers, 4/- to 6/-; Coxes, 5/- to 9/-; Delicious, 5/- to 7/9; Jonathan, 5/- to 7/6. Pearsj Cookers, 3/- to 4/6; YVinter Coles, 5/- to 7/-; W.8.C., 8/- to 10/-; L.8.J., 9/- to 13/6. Quinces, 5/- to 8/-; peaches, 2/6 to 4/-: plums, 4/- to 6/-; passion- fruit, 5/6 to 6/-; tomatoes, 5/- to 8/-; grapes, 4d. to 1/- a lb.; nectarines, 5/- to 6/6; greengages, 7/- to 8/-.
