MAN WITHOUT HOME OK EMPLOYMENT
Described As “A Bit Of A Problem” “A bit of a problem,” was the description applied to John Mur.ro, labourer, aged 37, by Senior-Sergeant H. (J. D. Wade, in the Magistrates’ Court. Petoue, yesterday. Munro was charged with being idle and disorderly. Senior-Sergeant Wade said that accused was unfit, for work. Lie had walked from Masterton and previously from Kotorua, arriving at Petoue at 10.15 o'clock the night before, lie then had nowhere to sleep, and was just existing. It was hard to know what to do with him. He was not on sustenance.
To Mr. A. M. Goulding, S.M., Munro said he had an aunt in Petoue, but she did not seem to be able to do anything for him other than to give him a cup of tea. That left him with nowhere to go. The magistrate asked Munro, who appeared younger, if he were really 37 Munro: Yes. my aunt told me last night.
Munro was remanded to appear in Wellington on Monday to enable inquiries to be made in the meantime with a view to assisting him.
