Prices For Winter Season

Selling prices of milk and cream for tlie winter season were fixed by the Wellington City Council last night. The new scale, which will come into operation on Thursday, March 30, is as follows Milk: Bottled, retail, 7d. ir quart; bulk, wholesale, 1/11 a gallon. Cream: bottled, retail, 7d.a quarterpint; 1/1 a half-pint; 2/2 for one pint lots. Bulk, wholesale, 15/- a gallon. The milk committee reported that sales for February averaged 6792 gallons daily, an increase of 400 gallons, or 6.25 per cent., compared with tlie same month last year. Cream sales showed an increase of 11.5 S per cent. Sales of milk to nearby farmers averaged 517 gallons daily, as against 322 gallons daily for February, 1938.
