RACING COMMISSION
Break In Fixtures Awaited Dominion Special Service. CHRISTCHURCH, March 15. As soon as the busy period of racing in New Zealand has passed, a racing commission will be appointed to investigate the condition of racing m the Dominion and the distribution of permits. This announcement was made on Tuesday night by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. Parry. "The appointment of the Racing Commission is dependent on the circumstances and till the busy period for racing is over the commission will not be appointed.” said Mr. Parry. The announcement that a commission was to be appointed was made some months ago. When questioned, Mr. Parry could give details as to the personnel of the commission. "It is good for racing and it is good for tlie country to know that everything. is all right,” said Mr. Parry, supporting the proposal to set up a commission. “If any improvement can be made or suggested for the benefit of the sport and the public generally, then it is time for legislation.”
