Cooper (Taita) and (Tvifab'ar Park) were instructed by. their clubs to oppose the increased aflll . ia ‘‘ o " fees Mr. Cooper said Ins club considered that by curtailing representative aiatcl particularly the Christchurch match, th affiliation could be accepted without increased costs. Mr. Elliott said that play ers should pay their own travelling exPC Mr. b H. Goldie (Metiers United) said that in his opinion the cricket in the valley was not improving in comparison with the increased costs. As one of the early members of the association he recalled that bigger obstacles were confronted without costing the players any monetary outlay. The chairman, Mr. J. E. Wilson, replied that if Mr. Goldie could give the management committee details ot where cricket could be played now under the conditions to which he had referred not only the committee but all cricketers would welcome the information. Messrs. Pointon (Gracefield) and Hart; ley (Todd Motors) expressed their clubs views in supporting the motion. They said they considered that tue younger players would benefit considerably if the motion were carried. The following motion, moved by Mr. Webster (Bell Park) and seconded by Mr. Sharpe (Gracefield), "that the affiliation of the Upper Hutt Cricket League be accepted,” was carried by 23 votes to 1. A motion by Mr. Pointon (Gracefield), seconded by Mr. Flaws (N.Z. Motor Bodies), "that the affiliation fee be advanced to £2/10/- a team and that travelling expenses to an from Upper Hutt be borne by the association,” was carried oy 19 votes to 7.
