Primary School Swimming Sports BUSY DAY AT TE AKO BATHS Te Yro baths bore a most animated appearance yesterday afternoon, when the Wellington Primary feehools Amateur Swimming and Life-Saving Association held its annual swimming Thirty-nine schools provided 1960 competitors ,and the 50 events on the programme were got off with businesslike dispatch by a strong committee of teachers, with Mr. P. N. Rundle, chairman of the YVellington Centre of the New Zealand' Amateur Swimming Association, us natron, Mr. W. J. Melody as president, and Mr. R. H. Thomson as hon. secreThe boys and girls showed that they had been well coached by the form they displayed in the life-saving events. Mr P McLean, caretaker ot the baths, kept a watchful eye on the young swimmers during the afternoon, and Mr. 1. Golumb cruised about in a punt ready to pick up any tired competitors. A Lyail Bay team, trained by the life-saving officer, Mr. W. F. Dudson, was ready at any time to dart out to any competitor in disSoine promising form was displayed, R. Murdoch, of Scons’. College, winning all four events for which he entered.
