B.B.C. APPOINTMENT
New Chairman Of Board Of Governors (British Official Wireless.) (Received March 14, 7.5 p.m.) RUGBY, Marell 13. Sir Allan Powell, a member of the Import Duties Advisory Committee, has been appointed chairman of the board of governors of the British Broadcasting Corporation in place of Mr. R. C. Norman. The appointment is for five years from April 19. Mr. Norman, whose original appointment expired in 1937, and who remained at the Government’s request with a view to ensuring continuity when an important development was In progress at Broadcasting House, has asked, iq be released.
