Vice-Regal. His Excellency the Governor-Gen-eral left Wellington yesterday afternoon for Wanganui, where he is committed to a number of engagements. His Excellency will return to Wellington tomorrow. Ministerial. The Hon. 11. T. Armstrong, Minister of Housing, returned to Wellington from Auckland yesterday. The Hon. Sir Heaton Rhodes, M.L.C., arrived at Wellington from the south yesterday. Major-General J. E. Duigtiu, Chief of the General Staff, and Major G. H. Clifton, returned to Wellington from the south yesterday. Mr. L. Alsweiler, Invercargill, is paying a business visit to Wellington.
Mr. C. Nathan returned to Wellington yesterday from Auckland. Mr. C. M. Turrell, chairman of the Wellington Harbour Board, left Wellington last night for the South Island.
Mr. A. Tyndall, Director of Housing Construction, returned to Wellington from Auckland yesterday. Mr. St. Clair Ferguson returned to Dunedin by the steamer express from Wellington last night. Mr. Janies Fletcher was au arrival at Wellington from Auckland yesterday by. the Limited express. Mr. J. E. Price, the Marlborough Aero Club’s instructor, returned to Blenheim by air from Wellington yesterday.
Mr. B. M. Holt, consulting mechanical and electrical engineer, Perth, Western Australia, is revisiting Wellington, where he was educated.
Mr. W. E. Anderson, secretary of the Auckland Employers’ Association, arrived at Wellington yesterday from the South Island. Mr. W. F. Bull. Canadian Trade Commissioner, arrived from Auckland yesterday to attend the annual nieet- . lug of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. C. E. Robertson, manager of the stud stock department of Wright, Stephenson and Company, Ltd., travelled south from Wellington last night by the steamer express.
Mr. J. 1.. Van W.vke, manager of tlie Holland-Australia Line, who is on a business visit to New Zealand travelled from Wellington to Auckland yesterday by air. Mr. F. G. Farrell, president of the Automobile Association (Auckland), was in Wellington yesterday to attend a meeting of the North Island Motor Union. Mr. C. E. Crltchley, Australian Trade Commissioner, who Ims been in Australia for the last month on a business visit, arrived at Auckland by the Awatea yesterday and will return to Wellington today. Mr. J. L. Tann, governing director of John Tann, Ltd., safe and strongroom engineers, London, was among the passengers from Sydney by the Waiigauella, which arrived at Wellington yesterday. Mrs. Tann and Miss D. J. Tann are with him. Commissioner D. Cuthbert, Loudon, arrived at Wellington from Sydney yesterday on Salvation Army business. He will visit also Masterton, Hastings, Napier, Putaruru and Auckland, and depart from Auckland next Tuesday for Vancouver. Mr. A. Abbott, British ConsulGeneral in Sao Paulo, Brazil, is on a brief holiday visit to New Zealand. Ho arrived at Wellington by tlie Wanganella yesterday, accompanied by Mrs. Abbott, and after visiting the principal tourist resorts of the North .Island will sail from Auckland on Tuesday.
