FINANCES OF HARBOUR BOARD
Auckland Position Reviewed By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, March,l4. Reviewing the finances of the Auckland Harbour Board at the sixtyseventh annual meeting, the chairman.. Mr. W. B. Darlow, said the total revenue for the year ended September 30, 1938, was £490,370, the highest in the history of the board and an increase of £29,847 over the previous year. Expenditure for the year amounted to £458,910, leaving a net surplus of £31,4CO. The surplus of assets over liabilities a_t the end of the year was £3,115,595. The board’s loan indebtedness at September 30 was £2.491,850. but against this there were sinking funds of £540,348, leaving a net indebtedness of £1,951,508.
