Sievwriglit, in moving the adoption of the report aud balance-sheet, said that the course was nothing like as good as it should be, considering the amount of money which was being spent upon its upkeep. He hoped that the suggestion made' some years ago that water should be laid to all the greens and teeing grounds would be put into effect. The necessary funds had been contributed by the members. In 1937-38 the golfers patronising the links had paid £2159 8/11 in fees, and the rents brought in £143/10/-, a total of £2302/18/11. On the expenditure side were wages £1839 9/8. a|nl material £406/2/6. The profit to the club was, therefore, £57/6/9, but the reserve department’s administrative expenses were set: down at £279/12/9, leaving a debit balance of £223. He contended that this statement of the club’s accounts was worthy of investigation, lie was aware that a leading citizen was preluired to pay £5OO a year for the lease of the links for a period of seven years. Such a proposal, he considered, would enable the links to be more effectively run, as well as making a substantial profit for tiie city council. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. Election of Officers. The election of officers resulted: —- Patron, Mr. E. Williams; president, Mr. J. D_ Sievwriglit; vice-presidents, Archbishop O’Shea, atid Messrs. N. Sanford, T. A. Johnston.
