Investiture Ceremony In Wanganui

Dominion Special Service. WANGANUI. March 14. Attended by members of the St. John Ambulance Brigade and the Nursing Division, an investiture ceremony of postulants to the Venerable Order of St. John, conducted by the Governor-General, Lord Galway, was held at Christ Church, IVanganui, tonight. Tonight’s ceremony marked only the second occasion on which an investiture has been held outside Government House. It 'was a colourful and impressive spectacle. Assisting Lord Galway were Knight Commander Sir J. Heaton Rhodes. De-puty-Knight Commander Colonel J. J. Esson, and the secretary to the knight commander, C. S. Falconer. The officiating chaplain was the Ven. Archdeacon J. R. Young. Those invested were Commanders John Brine and Hopeful Gibbons, and Serving Brothers Andrew John Crawford, William Bourne and Richard Ryder Wakely.
