Architects Farewell Mr. J. M. Dawson

On the eve of his departure.on an overseas tour, the president of the New Zealand Institute of Architects, Mr. J. M. Dawson, was tendered a farewell by members of the Wellington district at a gathering in the Hotel Waterloo last night. A welcome was extended to Mr. G. O. Pratt, architect of the British pavilion at the Centennial Exhibition, and appreciation was expressed of the services of Mr. E. W. G. Coleridge, who has recently retired from the position of district secretary. The chairman of the Wellington district, Mr. F. E. Greenish, congratulated Mr. Dawson on his election to the office of Dominion president at the recent conference in Dunedin, and wished him and Mrs. Dawson a very pleasant trip.

Welcoming Mr. Pratt, of the Department of Overseas Trade, Mr. Greenish said he was the exhibitions architect of the department, and was looking after the affairs of the British court at the Centennial Exhibition. Mr. Greenish hoped he would have a very pleasant stay in the Dominion. Mr. Greenish thanked Mr. Coleridge for his very excellent service as secretary and treasurer of the Wellington district branch for thopast 13 years.
