COMEDY AND MUSIC
Sparkling rapid-fire comedy and brilliant instrumental items by the Young Australian Boys’ Band and Revue Party will provide an entertainment of outstanding merit at the Grand Opera House, Wellington, beginning a season on Thursday, March 23. On. Saturdays and Wednesdays matinees will be given. Colin Croft will be an outstanding figure in the programme as a female impersonator, and George Nichols will be seen as an adaptable mimic with his lifelike studies of well-known screen stars. Six feet five inches in height, Ron Morris is the’ tallest of the party, and a comedian of ability. Others included are Charles Stanton, 14-year-old drum-major, conductor and tap dancer; Fen Robertson, xylophonist; Neil 'Webb, champion cornet player of Victoria; Les 'Waterhouse, piano-accordionist; George . Schilling, pianist; and Keith Withers, violinist. A feature of the programme is the pianoaccordion band. Versatility is shown in the combination of instruments, tap dancing, and comedy sketches to form a harmonious sequence.
