Dominion Rubber Co., Ltd. The annual report of the Dominion Rubber Co., Ltd., to be presented at the annual meeting of shareholders in Dunedin on March 29, states that the profit for the year, after providing for depreciation, income tax and social security tax, is £523/13/11. to which is to be added £1202/2/1 carried forward last year, givin" a balance in -the appropriation account of £1725/16/-. The directors recommend that this amount be carried forward to next year. The year, stated the report, had been a most difficult one, for, not only was the export quota reduced, but the selling price was very disappointing. The export quota was reduced from 90 per cent, to 4o per cent., averaging 581 per cent, for the year, while the selling price varied considerably, the average for the company, after providing for the purchase of export rights, being 5.14(1. for an output of 375,0001 b., against 462,5001 b. for the previous year. The all-in. cost of production, including Dunedin charges, was 5.23 d. a lb. . . No remittances were received from the estate during the year, and consequently no exchange was credited. A. further 10 acres yvere replanted and planting of 1(< 2 acres was commenced and will.be fully planted during the current year. Bricks And Mortar Ltd. Bricks and Mortar Ltd., Sydney, have advised the Stock Exchange Association that an interim quarterly dividend of ~ per cent, will be paid on March 31 at the rate of 8 per cent, per annum. Transfer books will be closed from March 29 till March 31, inclusive. Gold Mining Returns
The Argo dredge, for the week ended March 11. returned 660 z. for 130 hours from 12,500 yards. No. 8 level, _ No. 3 mullock pass rise, extended 171 t. to 86ft. through quartzitic ore; No. 9 level, No. 3 mullock pass rise extended 13ft. to 55ft. through hard quartzitic ore; No. 10 level, north drive, extended 19ft. to 68ft. through low-grade ore and mineralized schist, south drive extended 12ft. to o 3 ft. through low-grade ore. Reduction works; Furnace in blast full period: 4291 tons refinery anodes made for current year. Concentrator: Mill operated 336 hours mid treated 46,7-10 tons ore. producing 2182 tons concentrates. Copper refinery: Tank house in operation throughout fortnight. 539 tons cathode copper produced. Total for current year ‘lBl9 tons.
