WANGANELLA FROM SYDNEY

Due At 8 O’clock This Morning

The Huddart-Parker motor-liner Wangauella is due in the stream at Wellington at 8 o’clock this, morning from Sydney and will berth at No. 1 south Queen's Wharf about 8.30 a.m. She will sail again for Sydney and Sfelbourne on Thursday. Motor-ship Kaipaki Sieter to the cargo motor-ship Kaikoura, the 6000-ton Kaipaki was launched on the Clyde recently. She has been built by Alexander Stephen and Sons, Linthouse, for the New Zealand .Shipping Company for service between Eastern Canada and. New Zealand, via the Panama Canal. Her maiden voyage will probably begin about the end of March. Principal dimensions of the Kaipaki are: 440 ft. on -waterline 'by 59ft. beam by 39ft. depth, with a gross tonnage of about S‘JOO. She Is of the shelter-deck type with upper and lower ’tween decks, and a topgallant forecastle. She is intended to carry a deadweight of 9800 tons, including 500 tons of refrigerated cargo, and other outfit and accommodation for officers and crew will be to the usual high standard of the New Zealand' Shipping Company. The five large hatchways are equipped with steam winches and steel derricks mounted on the masts and samson posts for rapid handling of cargo. The Kaipaki is intended to maintain a speed of over 13 knots and will be fitted with single-screw four-cylinder Diesel engines of Doxford opposed piston type, built by Barclay, Curie, and Company. Two oil-fired and exhaust gas hollers are installed to supply steam for all purposes, including the cargo winches, windlass and steering gear. Tl(£ new vessel is generally similar to the Kaikoura, which was launched at Linthouse in September, 1937.

She will leave Wellington finally on March 21 for Dunkirk, and London, via Cape Horn. CAMBRIDGE FOR AUCKLAND. The Federal steamer Cambridge will leave Wellington at noon tomorrow for Auckland and Lyttelton to complete loading for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool and Glasgow. She will sail finally from Lyttelton on March 25. THE CITY OF GLASGOW. ' The M.-A.-N.Z. steamer City, of Glasgow is expected to leave Wellington this afternoon for Napier to continue loading for New York, Boston, and Montreal. She will sail finally from Auckland on March IS. DORIC STAR’S LOADING. The Blue Star'Line steamer Doric Star is due at Wellington on Thursday from. Picton to continue loading for London, via the Panama Canal. From here she will go to Port Chalmers (March 20-22), and Bluff (March 23-28). PIAKO’S PROGRAMME. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Piako will leave Nelson tomorrow for Wellington. She will leave here on March 20 for Lyttelton (due March 21), and Port Chalmers (due March 23). She ■ will s'ail finally ou March 30 for London and Hamburg, via Cape Horn. SUSANA FROM BUNBURY. The American steamer Susana, "with hardwood from Bunbury, Western Australia, arrived at Auckland on Sunday evening. She will complete discharge at Wellington and 'Lyttelton, later sailing for Newcastle.to load.coal for Manila. TAIROA AT AUCKLAND-. The Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Tairoa arrived at Auckland on Sunday from Immingham and Antwerp, via the Cape of Good Hope and Sydney. She will discharge basic slag, potash, and asphalt, and Is expected to sail on Friday for New Plymouth to complete. THE PORT TAURANGA. The Watehlin Line motor-ship Port Tauranga will leave Grafton, New South Wales, on Friday for Bluff, where she is due on March 23, and Dunedin. THE PORT CAROLINE. Wireless advice from the Port Line steamer Port Caroline, in ballast from Liverpool. via the Cape of Good Hope, states that she will reach Auckland tomorrow morning to begin loading for London and West Coast ports of Britain. THE PORT HALIFAX. From St. John. Halifax, Louisterg, and Kingston, the M.A.-N.Z.ft Line motor-ship Port Halifax, is due at Auckland at 6 o’clock tomorrow evening. She will continue discharge at Wellington, where she is due on March 20, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Bluff.
