MADRID REVOLT ENDED
Claim By General Miaja CITY RETURNING TO NORMAL By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. MADRID, March 12. General Miaja, President of the Defence Council, claims that the Communist revolt has ended. Hundreds of prisoners have been liberated, and the republicans have cleared the eastern boundaries of the city and recaptured Chamartin and Fl Pardo. Lorries are distributing provisions. The tram service has been resumed. Communist posts in the Guadarrama mountains are expected to be subdued shortly. The dreaded Communist secret police of Valencia have been dissolved and the leaders arrested. At Alicante the Communist members of the town council have been dismissed.
