ASSAULT ON “BRITISH IMPERIALISM”
Indian Congress Urged To Act BOMBAY, March 10. Opening the Indian National Congress today, Chandra Bose said that the time had come for a major assault on British imperialism and to present an ultimatum for Britain to concede without delay all India’s national demands. The international situation was favourable for this. Congress passed a vote of confidence in Mahatma Gandhi and the old committee by 210 votes to 131. The Leftists solidly opposed, seriously splitting the congress. Chandra Bose is suffering from bronchial pneumonia and his resignation is feared.
