YOUNG AUSTRALIANS’ BAND
Young Charles Stanton, the band leader with the Young Australian Boys’ Band and Revue, which will open a season at the Opera House on March 23, was selected to lead the pageant which inarched across the Sydney Harbour Bridge immediately Mr. J. Lang had cut the historical piece of ribbon at the official opening. This lad was thus the first citizen to cross the bridge. Then, again, he led the parade of the Duke of Gloucester’s official procession through Sydney, and he was personally congratulated by His Royal Highness on his smartness and military bearing. Charles Stanton was then only eight years of age. The. Young Australians played a record season in Auckland recently, where huge audiences acclaimed their performance. They present a 2J-hour fast-moving revue with pleasing music, attractive stage presentations and costumes. Seats may .be reserved at tbe D.I.C. Matinees will be presented on Saturdays and Wednesdays.
