A BUSY JANUARY

Cupid and the Stork

Both Cupid and Hie stork had a busy January in AVellington this year, and indications are that "the cornerhas been turned” in their line of business. This year, 112 of Cupid’s darts sped straight to their mark, and the Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages duly recorded that number of marriages, which is an increase of 17 as compared with January of last year. Only 19 were married by the registrar, as compared with 26 previously. The stork also had plenty to do. and visited 191 homes, bettering last year's total of 169. There were only 93 deaths this year, as against 95 for last January.
